Peony ‘Pastel Sunrise’

Posted on April 7, 2019April 7, 2019

Paeonia lactiflora ‘Pastel Sunrise’. From Klehm’s Song Sparrow Farm and Nursery.

I grew this one many years ago, but it died of neglect. Although peonies are among the easiest plants to grow, and are very long-lived, like other plants they do require regular watering and weeding as they get established in the first three years.

I was eager to grow this peony again, and when I started gardening again in 2016, ‘Pastel Sunrise’ was one of the first plants that I ordered. Last year it bloomed from May 29 to June 6.
