A Long Island Rose Garden

Viola ‘Rebecca’

Posted on April 10, 2019April 10, 2019

From Bluestone Perennials. I planted this two years ago. After blooming from May 7 to June 9 of last year, it rapidly declined during the summer and never came back. It’s supposed to be a short-lived perennial, but I’ve noticed that whenever the catalogs say that a plant is short-lived, it usually grows as a biennial in my garden.

It was growing in a spot where it received afternoon shade, which is recommended, but perhaps I didn’t give it enough water.
