‘Silver Dawn’ is actually a group of single flowered hybrids in pastel shades of cream, apricot, and pink. The petals have a lovely ruffled texture. The photo above is from a plant growing in too much shade. The flowers grow slightly larger in shade, but far less numerous than they should be. I also have a hedge of these growing in full sun by the road, and the spring bloom slows down traffic.
These are very early blooming peonies. Last year, ‘Silver Dawn’ bloomed from May 15 to May 28. All my other peonies started blooming at the end of May.
