In my opinion, this is Griffith Buck’s finest creation, and one of the best roses I’ve ever grown. It was introduced by Roses Unlimited in South Carolina. ‘Quietness’ has excellent resistance to black spot, and is a vigorous grower, reaching 4 to 5 feet tall in my garden. I pruned it back hard this spring, and hopefully that will keep it shorter. The only reason I can think why ‘Quietness’ is not more widely grown than ‘Knock Out’ is marketing.
Last year, ‘Quietness’ bloomed from June 10 to June 28.
